McLoughlins Beach celebrate new jetty

The Nationals Member for Gippsland South joins campaigner Lynn Borgia in celebrating the completion of the long-awaited new jetty at McLoughlins Beach.

The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien has joined locals in celebrating the completion of the long-awaited new jetty at McLoughlins Beach.

Mr O’Brien said the project has been a long time coming and is the result of years of tireless campaigning by the local community.
“The old jetty was well past its use-by date, so it’s great to see a new, modern structure that will support locals, recreational fishers, boaties and tourists for decades to come,” Mr O’Brien said.
“This has been a great community effort and I was proud to stand alongside the McLoughlins Beach Residents and Ratepayers Association, the Angling Club and so many locals who fought to secure the future of the jetty.”
Mr O’Brien said he will also continue to advocate for the return of toilet facilities at McLoughlins Beach to ensure the foreshore has the amenities it needs for both locals and visitors.
