Funding boost for Fulham shelter

The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien has congratulated Animal Aid on its successful application to Round 12 of the Animal Welfare Fund Grants Program.

The Animal Welfare Fund Grants Program supports not-for-profit organisations that deliver animal welfare services and improvements for companion animals.

Mr O’Brien said Animal Aid will receive $42,148 in funding, which will be used to construct additional outdoor runs and renovate existing runs for dogs at its Fulham site.

“This is fantastic news for the dedicated team at Animal Aid Fulham who work tirelessly to care for lost, abandoned, and surrendered animals in our region,” Mr O’Brien said.

“The Fulham facility currently has the capacity to accommodate up to 30 dogs, but it has less than half the number of outdoor runs needed to give these animals the space and stimulation they deserve.

“This funding will make a real difference by helping to improve the living conditions for the dogs in their care and support the staff and volunteers who do such important work.”

Mr O’Brien said Animal Aid, as a not-for-profit charity, plays a crucial role in supporting both animals and the community.

“Animal Aid is an essential local charity that provides compassionate care and rehabilitation for animals in need.

“They rely heavily on community support, donations, and the dedication of volunteers to continue their important work.”
