Gippsland based cricket clubs are being encouraged to get their applications in to the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF) to help improve local facilities and promote inclusion.
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien said the ACIF, which is jointly funded by Cricket Australia and Cricket Victoria, is a wonderful opportunity for local clubs to secure funds for their much-needed infrastructure projects.
“The ACIF provided funding to over 60 projects in the 2023-24 season including four clubs right here in Gippsland.
“The Longford, Koonwarra Leongatha RSL, Toongabbie and the Leongatha Town Cricket Clubs have all benefitted greatly from the last round of funding and I am encouraging any other local clubs with an unfunded wishlist to get their applications in.
Mr O’Brien highlighted that the ACIF is open to all clubs, associations, schools, local government and cricket facility managers.
“Gippsland is a proud sporting community and its important that we have the facilities to support the community’s passion.
“I am more than happy to provide a letter of support for any clubs looking to make an application.”
Applications are open now and close on Sunday 23 March 2025.
