Local shooting clubs receive boost
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien is congratulating local shooting clubs who had successful applications under the State Government’s Shooting Sports Facilities Program.
Mr O’Brien said three local clubs from the electorate of Gippsland South received funding to improve their facilities:
- Sale Pistol Club – to install solar panels and a solar battery
- Leongatha Small Bore Rifle and Air Rifle Club – to install a unisex/disabled toilet
- Rosedale Rifle Club – to improve facilities at the clubhouse.
“I’m delighted to see these clubs receive this much-needed funding to help improve their facilities.
“Shooting is a fantastic sport in that it is an inclusive all-abilities activity that can be enjoyed safely by the young and old alike.
“These improvements will mean clubs will be able to boost participation and improve their capability to accommodate people of all abilities.”
Mr O’Brien said Sport and Recreation Victoria have regular funding streams throughout the year and he encourages all local clubs to regularly monitor its website for suitable grants at https://sport.vic.gov.au/grants-and-funding.
