Issues galore for O’Brien MP on the road
Issues ranging from the quality of ambulance services to Covid restrictions, local roads and electricity supply were on the agenda when The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien, conducted mobile electorate office visits this week.
Mr O’Brien has visited Leongatha, Ruby, Mirboo North, Hallston and Berrys Creek in the last week. On Monday he held outreach visits to Loch Sport, Golden Beach, Seaspray and Stradbroke.
“It’s always great to get out of the office and meet with people in their home area, particularly now that most Covid restrictions have lifted.
“Sometimes with such a big electorate it’s difficult for people to come to my office so I believe it’s important to take the office to them.
“Helping people with state government issues where I can is the main focus of these trips but many people came along just to chat or to vent about issues that are troubling them. It’s an important part of our democracy that people have direct access to their MP.
“Listening to people on the ground not only helps me represent my constituents better but it also helps The Nationals as we develop policy to ensure that we are addressing the issues that are important to regional Victorians.”
“I am following up a number of concerns with the State Government as a result of these visits and I’ll be at a town near you soon.”
