Hospital Works well on the way

Construction work on a new operating theatre and an expanded maternity ward is well under way at South Gippsland Hospital.

The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien said he was pleased to see the frame for the building up and construction in full swing when he visited Foster last week.

“It’s great to see these works underway and I look forward to the completion of the expansion works at South Gippsland Hospital which will deliver improved health services for the people of Corner Inlet region.

“I was pleased to be able to support the hospital’s application for funding from the State Government which is paying for these works.

“The new building will expand the maternity ward and also deliver a new theatre facility, helping to cement the level of service in the town.

“Foster has a great health precinct with excellent support from the Foster Medical Centre providing a high-quality level of health services to people of the region.”

The $2 million project is due to be completed in the middle of next year.
