Funding boost for local Ag Shows
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien has congratulated the Sale and Foster agricultural societies on their successful grant applications to the Agricultural and Pastoral Society Grants 2020-21 program.
Mr O’Brien said the Sale and District Agricultural Society will be receiving $8,901 to construct an equine testing facility, while Foster and District Agricultural Society will receive $10,000 to provide an upgrade to an existing shed.
“I’m looking forward to seeing this funding help our hard-working agricultural societies convert their ideas into reality,” Mr O’Brien said.
“No doubt, like many other Gippslanders, I was disappointed by the cancellation of so many local agricultural shows as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, so it’s great to see this funding from Agriculture Victoria being put to use locally.
“Rural show days provide a boost to local economies and an opportunity for people to come together, while at the same time showcasing the district’s agriculture to both locals and visitors alike.
“I congratulate and offer my full support to these fantastic local agricultural societies for these initiatives and the ongoing efforts to achieve this.”
