Shade grants now available
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien is encouraging sports clubs, not-for-profit organisations, and community groups across the Gippsland South electorate to apply for the third and final round of the Community Shade Grants Program, which is now open.
Mr O’Brien said funding was available in three bands – Band 1 up to $5,000, Band 2 $5,000 to $20,000, and Band 3 $20,000 - $50,000 - with applicants only able to apply for one grant.
“The program provides funding to build new shade structures, replace or repair existing shade structures, create natural shade by planting trees, purchase a portable shade, or a combination of options,” Mr O’Brien said.
“Applicants for new, repair or replacement, natural and portable shade may also apply for sun protection items including sunscreen and hats up to an additional $700.
“There are a number of community organisations in the Gippsland South electorate that could put additional shade structures to good use.”
The application process involves two stages:
- Expression of Interest
- Full application (shortlisted applicants only)
Applications for the Community Shade Grants Program close at 5 pm on Thursday 30 November 2017.
