Sale RSL to remember WWII

The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien is delighted that Sale RSL has secured state government funding to plan and hold activities in commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the end of WWII in 2020.

“This is wonderful news that represents the hard work of our wonderful Sale RSL sub-branch, led by President Martin Tanzer and his team,” Mr O’Brien said.

“The 75th anniversary of the end of WWII is a major milestone and I look forward to taking part in the activities that the Sale RSL sub-branch has planned.”

The successful grant application was lodged under the Victoria Remembers Minor Grant Program, which is designed to fund projects that honour or commemorate veterans’ service, or educate Victorians about veteran’s contributions.

The funded projects from all around Victoria cover a range of initiatives, such as preserving memorials, commemorating veterans through services and events and providing education or training programs so veterans can remain engaged with the community.

Applications for the next round of grants under the Victoria Remembers Minor Grant Program will open on December 3, 2019.

Mr O’Brien said any community groups wanting a letter of support for their application should contact his office on 03 5144 1987.
