O’Brien takes office on the road
Topics from school bus routes to road safety and the availability of land for development were on the agenda when Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien took his electorate office on the road around Yarram last week.
Mr O’Brien conducted mobile office appointments in Yarram, Port Albert, Devon North and Stacey’s Bridge and also took in visits to Alberton and Devon North Primary Schools.
“I think it’s very important that I give people the opportunity to raise issues with their local member in their own community which is why I regularly take my office on the road.
“I had a full book of about a dozen appointments in the Yarram district and it was great to get out and listen to the local community. I’ll now be following up a number of these issues on behalf of my constituents.”
Mr O’Brien said it was also good to visit the two primary schools where he presented leadership certificates to the school captains at Alberton Primary.
“Our small local schools do a great job in servicing our communities and I’m always very pleased to go and visit them and speak to our school students.
“The questions from the floor at Alberton were exceptional and show we have a very bright bunch of kids coming through.”
