Gippsland South The Nationals Mobile Office Loch Sport

Loch Sport on the agenda for local MP

Further business and tourism development in Loch Sport was one of a number items on the agenda when The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien visited Loch Sport, Golden Beach and Seaspray.

Mr O’Brien was on his regular mobile office visit, holding meetings with constituents along the 90 Mile Beach.

“It was great to meet with the Loch Sport Business and Tourism Association which is keen to progress further development in the town, including by examining future water supply options.

“I’ll be seeking some advice from Gippsland Water on this issue and also taking up a number of others that were raised with me.”

Mr O’Brien said Loch Sport was growing in population and with the planned redevelopment of the local supermarket precinct there were great opportunities for businesses and tourism in the town.

“It was great to catch up with the local business people but I also had a number of other constituent appointments covering issues including recreational fishing, waste management, health services, the kangaroo problem and local roads.

“As always it was great to drop into the Men’s Shed for a chat.”

Mr O’Brien also caught up with the Loch Sport Golf Club which is seeking funding to redevelop its crumbling club rooms.

“The Loch Sport Golf Club’s rooms are termite-infested and falling apart. They are seeking a modest amount of funding to build a new facility and I am very pleased to be able to support that project.

“We have some great attractions along the 90 Mile Beach and it was good to hear from people in Loch Sport, Golden Beach and Seaspray on the issues of concern to them.

“I take my office on the road regularly to ensure that I can meet with my constituents in their own communities and see first-hand the issues they are concerned about. A number of these I will now be following up with the Andrews Labor Government.

“While the mobile office visits are held regularly I’m available at any time to meet with constituents who can contact me through my office on 5144 1987.”
