The Nationals Gippsland South Danny O'Brien Nappies Nappy Collective The Nappy Collective Donations Charity
Donate your unused nappies at O’Brien’s Office
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien, is again participating in the Nappy Collective Giving Project and encouraging locals to donate unused disposable nappies.
In Victoria alone, around 35,000 families, representing 62,000 children, report not having enough nappies to change their children as often as they need to.
Mr O’Brien said the Nappy Collective Project aims to combat this problem by collecting hundreds of thousands of leftover nappies from official drop points across Australia.
“This initiative runs twice a year with donations handed over to charities in May and October and I am always astounded at the generosity of our locals,” Mr O’Brien said.
“I’m more than happy for my office to be an official drop point and look forward to handing over donations in the coming months.”
Mr O’Brien said the disposable nappies collected through his office will be distributed to local organisations that support victims of domestic violence and young mothers in need.
“While many generous locals often donate unopened packets, opened packets are just as gratefully received.
“All sizes and types are appreciated, including swim nappies and night time nappies. If you have any disposable nappies sitting at home that you no longer require, please consider donating them.”
Mr O’Brien’s office, located at 54B Cunninghame Street in Sale, is a registered collection point for unused nappy donations with donations being accepted from now until the end of May 2018.
