Are you election ready?
The Nationals Member for Gippsland South, Danny O’Brien is encouraging local residents to check their enrolment details with the Victorian state election less than two months away,
Victorians will head to the polls on Saturday, 24 November 2018.
“It’s quite easy to check your enrolment details online at the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) website at vec.vic.gov.au or call 131 832.
“To enrol for the first time, or to update your details you will need to contact the VEC direct.
“It’s important for all Victorians to be correctly enrolled on the state roll, not just to make their visit to the voting booths run smoothly, but more importantly to make sure they get their say.”
Mr O’Brien has also spoken of his disappointment that Labor and the Greens have both failed to nominate a candidate for Gippsland South.
“At the end of the day Australia is a democratic country and our voters are entitled to have a choice on election day.
“It’s a privilege to represent the people of Gippsland South and I work hard every day on behalf of my constituents. I will be campaigning very hard to earn that privilege again but I think the people of Gippsland South deserve a choice.
“Our democracy won’t flourish without competition – for ideas, for policy and for commitments to the electorate ahead of the election.
“Regardless of what happens and who nominates between now and election day, I will continue to fight for a better deal for Gippsland South.”
For more information about enrolling, voting or standing for elections, visit the VEC’s website at vec.vic.gov.au or call 131 832.
